Overview of Ram 1500 TRX

A terrible roar can be heard over the top of a muddy ORV road. But this isn’t a normal wild animal or hog; it’s the 702-hp 1500 TRX. The engine is a strong 6.2-liter V-8 that is supercharged and drinks fuel like it’s a yard hose. The TRX will no longer be made after this year, but a new truck with two turbocharged V-6 engines will be released in 2025. It will be called the RHO.

What’s New for 2024?

The Ram 1500 TRX is all Bad News Bears for 2024, as parent company Stellantis announced it would be the final year of the 702-hp pickup. The 2024 model year is the only time the Final Edition will be sold; only 4000 will be made. There are three colors that are only offered on this TRX Final Edition: Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue, and Harvest Sunrise.

The picture next to the bed and the smooth silver wheels that can be rolled in are also one-of-a-kind. A “TRX” piece of art and Patina contrast stitching are added by Ram on the inside. The words “Final Edition” are written on the gauge cluster. It has a Satin Titanium finish and special faux-suede door panels on the inside, among other things that make it stand out.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

The TRX is only expected to get 10 mpg in the city and 14 mpg on the highway, which isn’t much better. The Raptor gets 15 mpg in the city and up to 18 mpg on the road, so those numbers are much lower. As part of our thorough testing process, we put the TRX through its paces on our 75-mph fuel economy route and saw that it got a pitiful 13 mpg on the highway.
